Still Colouring Our Worlds!

Look at these super 'Colour My World' presentations completed with Miss Pierson yesterday. We have been learning what similes are and writing examples so that we can use some in our writing. Some of these presentation use similes. Similes are when two things are compared using the words 'like' or 'as'.
Why do writers use similes?
Writers use similes to explain things, to express emotion, and to make their writing more vivid and entertaining. Discovering fresh similes to use in your own writing also means discovering new ways to look at things you are writing about. Similes make stories fun and interesting to read.

WOW! Yesterday in the hall we had a whole school meet up. We had a little talk about production. Then Mrs Pearse announced something really exciting! It was the 'Colour My World' cover   competition. My heart was pounding! Then they announced the winners for the year 1, 2 and 3's. Mrs Pearse said... Ezrah Eagle! I stood up and went down to get my voucher and shake Mrs Pearse's hand.  $20 to spend at the Warehouse! What will I get...

Nearly Show Time!

Today the whole school got together ahead of the first Colour My World show. Check out these students who are focussed and listening to Mr Pearse. Great job guys - I just know that everyone will nail it tonight, and again tomorrow and again on Thursday. Bring it on!!!!!!!!

In a Galaxy Far, Far, Away...

Here is a little taste of what you will see at the show! Some of the photos are screenshots taken from a video  so appear a bit fuzzy. This will not be the case at performances! "Colour My World' is sensational so I hope you have your tickets!
Kapahaka students must be at school by 5.30pm in Room 9.
All other students to Room 10 by 6.20pm please.

Wyatt really shined at rehearsal today so he took the Super Mover Cup. Great moves and loads of attitude! Well done the two previous awardees - Nina and Aradia. Can't wait until next week to see everyone performing in front of an audience.

Colour My World Competition

Hey, hey, hey! Check out these Room 10 entries for the 'design a cover' competition. Some amazing art skills in these designs. Great to see the name of the show and year prominently displayed on most of the entries. I wonder who will win the $20 Warehouse vouchers? I am glad I do not have to choose the winners - it won't be an easy task! Good luck to who ever has to do it....

Wow! Production is go!!!!!!!

What a magnificent learning day we had today. Learning how to perform, learning how to be part of an awesome audience, learning how to step up on stage and showing listening manners and self-control as part of HUGE school item. I was so proud of you all today - tino pai rawe Room 10. Just shmazing! It is fabulous to be your teacher - lucky, lucky me!!

Remember Production Clothing for Tomorrow!

 You need your production clothing for tomorrow - black pants and black t-shirt please. Bring your clothing in a named, plastic bag. Girls - have a go at the Princess Leia hair buns too. I can't wait to see how fabulous you all look!

It was fantastic to get our production item underway today. Our item is all about precision and timing as there is no song. There will definitely be a 'WOW' factor though!

Colour My World - BLACK!

This week we will be focussing on finalising our item for the production 'Colour My World' in Week 8. Yikes! Best we get busy!
Soooooo, everyone will need a plain black t-shirt and black pants. Leggings for the girls if possible and black track pants for the boys - or you can also wear leggings if you like. Remember plain black - no logos or pictures. Possible shopping spots - The Wharehouse, KMart, Postie Plus, Farmers. If you find a great deal, comment and share it with us all.
Parents: If you are a closet choreographer then come and see Mrs Perry asap - she needs all the help she can get. Thanks for your support!
