Awesome Questions from Six Team!

Great questions :)
Great heads of hair are growing!
We were really excited when we read the questions clever Room 6 students asked us about our grass buddies. Thanks so much for your challenging 'fat' questions Six Team!
So… we got organised into small groups and set about replying as part of our writing. We talked about what a quality reply or comment should look like and set some success criteria to guide us as we constructed our replies. We're pretty proud of the work we did today and now when it comes to blog commenting we are moving up the Piki Haere ladder and moving 'right up there.'
Ka pai Six Team, we hope you enjoy reading the answers!

Lily asked…
How did you put your grass in?
Kia ora!
Our names are Destiny-Paige and Jahrel. Thank you for your interesting question Lily.We used a tablespoon to measure the grass seeds and put them in the middle of the cloth. Then we had to spread the grass seeds out. Would you like us to help you make your own grass buddy? Keep visiting our class blog!

Did you make them with a buddy?
Hi!
our names are Ezrah, Sharnika and Nina.Thank you Lily for commenting on our blog about grass buddies.Yes we did have a buddy. We had an EIT teacher. We either had Miss Spurrier, Miss Sinton, Mr Forman, Mrs Smith or Miss McIntyre to help us. Would you like to make a grass buddy one day?

Did you put your name on them?
Hi Lily :)
Our names are Bianca, Tyler and Nicholas. Thank you for commenting on our blog. Yes! We did put our names on the plastic cup otherwise we wouldn't know which grass buddy was which! Would you like to make your own one?

Shilah wondered...
How did you do it?
Hello Shilah
This answer is from Jordan, Cairo and Divaan.
Do you want to learn how to make a grass buddy?
You'll need grass seeds, fabric,1 tbsp of grass seeds, one and a half cups of potting mix and a plastic cup. First you spread the fabric out and then you put the grass seeds in the middle of the fabric and spread it around. Tip the potting mix on top of the grass seeds. Pull the fabric together to make a ball. Would you like us to help you make a grass buddy of your own? Thank you for commenting on our blog.

Isla's question was...
What is the circle stuff made of?
Kai ora Isla :)
Our names are Evangelina, Aradia and Bona and we were very excited to get your comment. We used a stretchy cloth with tiny holes in it to hold the grass seed and potting mix so our grass buddies can grow grass hair. thanks for your comment Isla. Would you like to make your own grass buddy with a funky hair do?

Kimberly-Ann asked...
How does the green grass grow with those tiny holes?
Hi Kimberly-Ann
Our names are Jack, Reicoe and Cole. Thank you for commenting on our blog.
The grass is so small that it can fit through the tiny holes and pop out when it
is ready to grow. We had to dip our grass buddies into water for 10 seconds so they would have moisture to help them grow. Do you want to make a grass buddy too? It will be fun!

Talan wanted to know...
What is the stuff that they grow in?
Hello Talan
That is a good question! Well, the grass seeds are growing in potting mix. You could also grow them in soil. That means dirt. Thank you for commenting on our blog. Did you know that our grass buddies have grown a lot of hair? Do you want to make one of your own?
From Paige, Shekinah & Wyatt

Sam's question was...

Why did you want to have them in your classroom?
Hi Sam :)
Our names are Grace, Julie and Rama. Thank you for the comment. It was amazing. We put them in the classroom because if we put them outside someone could steal them. Our topic is all about 'growing' and so we thought this would be a fun thing to do.

Thanks for all your brilliant replies.

We would LOVE to make some grass buddies with you! Isla is wondering have you watered them today? She thinks that in the picture, the grass buddies look like they have their grass highlighted green!

Kimberley-Ann is wondering who she will be buddied up with already. Are we going to be making them with you?

Thanks for sharing with us. Have a lovely day.

Yes, we have watered our grass buddies today. When we water them we use a spray bottle to spray their hair. Sometimes we have to water them twice a day! We will make the grass buddies with you. You don't have to get anything ready because we have all the things we need to make them.
How many kids are in Six Team? There are 27 kids in our room.
We are not sure who we are going to be buddied up with yet. It's going to be exciting and we will have a fabulous time. We can't wait! From Mathias, Aradia and Destiny-Paige
