EOTC - Otatara Pa and Waiohiki Arts Village visit 18 November

What an amazing day we had in the rain yesterday!  Rm 10 along with Rooms 5 and 11, got to visit the Waiohiki Arts Village and Otatara Pa.  We learnt how to weave 'English Roses' with flax at Waiohiki, which was challenging but great fun.

We then got to walk in the rain, up the hill at Otatara Pa.  Tareha and Gary, were our guides, and they spoke to us about the land we were on, how and why it was so sacred to the local Maori people.  They also shared some interesting stories about the local area, and the local people.  It was a fantastic day and an awesome experience for us all.
