WOW! Yesterday we did some weaving. Mel, Aradia's mum brought some harakeke into Room 10. Mel got the flax ready to make a headband. The Maori word for headband is tipare. To be a great weaver you have to have excellent maths skills, patience and lots of practice. We had to work with a buddy and my buddy was Paige. Paige and I made her one first. We needed a little bit of help from Mel. Mel is a master weaver. I thought that I was not able to do it but I showed courage. At the end my arm was really itchy and really red. I hope that we can make another one for my sister.
Thanks for publishing your super story Ezrah. Mel is certainly a master weaver. It was great that everyone showed so much courage and made a tipare. What a fabulous learning experience it was!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic story Ezrah. It sounds like you had lots of fun With Mel and learnt some new skills. You will have to show me how to do some weaving. - Amanda (Ezrah's Mum)
