When we went to the Hastings Sports Center I got weighed. I found out that I weigh 30.9kg! Then we put a clip on our t-shirts and we got put into our division. I was first up and I faced my brother. I won the fight then my cousin faced a girl from Australia and she won. We had an early morning tea. At 6.30, I went to the canteen and had 2 cupcakes before we went down back down to the floor for the presentation. I got 1st place in my division so I felt awesome! My brother got 1st place too. Then I got 1st place again because I had an extra fight. I faced a person from the same dojo his whose name was Robby. I beat him in the ring. There are judges who give you points but you are not allowed to punch in the head. I didn't punch my opponent in the head and I won all of my fights. Now my dad says he wants to join Karate because he wants to be a champion like me.
Well done Divaan for writing such a super story about Karate and sharing it with the world! There is a lot of skill and discipline involved in your sport and you obviously work really hard to be able to do so well. I wonder if your Dad will be as good as you and your brother?
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing to see the dedication you have to your sports Son!. The accomplishments you have made in karate at your age is amazing. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteAlso to answer your question Mrs Perry…I think Divaan has far more dedication and discipline then his Dad (haha), and he is an awesome role model for his brother.
Great to hear about you being a super role model Divaan. You must be so proud of the comments your Mum has posted - she thinks you're amazing and so do we!! Have a great holiday and keep on checking out the blog. I would love to hear what you, Arji and your family are doing. Tino Pai Divaan :)
ReplyDeleteDivaan, I go to karate too. I haven't got a belt yet but I will soon. Well done. I am REALLY proud of you
