Heart Central
I learnt today
that kidneys are full of waste. If you drink water, the water will wash the
waste out. If you are sick you can buy some medicine. I learnt that my heart is
as big as my fist. At night when I am asleep, my brain keeps working. It does
not go to sleep. I have learnt that I should drink 3 glasses of water a day.
Water is a healthy drink. We breathe in oxygen then we breathe out carbon
dioxide. If you have diabetes you need to take medicine. You have to exercise
every day so your body can be fit.

When we went to
see Harold, we shrunk down and went into someone else’s body and went to Heart
Central. Then Charlie said, “Oh! I’m late!” On Tuesday we went back to Harold.
We learned about our circulation and kidneys. Did you know that if you have too
much waste your wee gets dark but if it’s lighter it means that there’s not that much waste. That’s because you don’t drink enough water. Drink 3 or more
glasses of water every day.

At Life Education
we learnt that you have to have the right medicine or you can die. The brain
never stops going even if you go to sleep, no matter what! You have to drink
three glasses of water every day. We only need medicine sometimes or you can
get sick as. We breathe out carbon dioxide and oxygen comes back in. Harold
sang us a song. I like the song he sang us.

Fireman Hero Saves a Life!
I heard the alarm
go off so I quickly rushed to the fire and zoomed off. But, I was too late.
Then I realised there was still something in there because a lady said, “There
is a baby kitten in the burning house!” So my mate gave me some tools but I
dropped them so my back would not be sore. Then I went in the house. It was
pitch black but luckily I had a torch so I turned on the torch and shined it
around the room. I saw a Spiderman table and next to it was the kitten. Then I
picked it up and told my mate that I had the kitten. I quickly put a towel over
the kitten and poured some nice cold water on it, then an oxygen mask on the
kitten’s mouth. I was scared that it might die but then I heard a little meow.
“It’s alive!” I said. I was so happy but this person who was behind me was petrified
because she thought it would not wake up. But, it did wake up! Then I drove off
and said, “That was a rough day. I am exhausted!”
By Reicoe
Here I go. I walk
into the burnt house. I turn on my flashlight. I’m looking around for the
kitten… there it is! I go and pick it up. I pat my friend to show him that I’ve
got it. “Let’s go!” We walk out of the black house. “Hurry! Hurry! We have got
to get this kitten breathing again!” I open the slide-up door of the fire truck.
I have to get that black bag with a tank in it! I put the oxygen mask on the
kitten. I get a cloth and pour water on it. I see it starts to move and then it
meows. “I have just saved this kitten.” I say to myself.

“OK, what’s going on sir?”
“We haven’t
checked inside yet.”
“OK, then I will.
I wonder what’s in here? There is a Superman bag and table. Hey! I wonder what
that grey thing is on the ground by the table? It looks like a cat!” I said
very softly.
“Hey! Hey! I
found a cat on the ground!”
My partner
offered me tools.
“OK, let’s take
this cat outside to get have some fresh air from the oxygen mask!”
I said, “Come on
kitten, stay with me now please. OK, I will put this cloth on your back to
rehydrate you.”
“Meow, meow” said
the kitten.
“The kitten’s alive!” I said, shouting with
joy.
My partner
congratulated me and I hugged the kitten.

One day, I got
called to an emergency. To a burning house!
As I arrive at
the house, the owner is standing outside.
She said her son
was playing with matches but she didn’t know he was.
I said “OK.”
Then she said,
“My kitten is inside the house! Can you please go and rescue it?”
“OK” I said.
So I go inside
the house. “Look! There’s a Spiderman table and bag. Hey look! Is that the
kitten? OK, let’s get it and take it outside. Go! Go! Go! Get the gas mask and
towels too! Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Put the towels and the gas mask on it, and the
water. Now she’s safe,” I said to the owner.

Owl Babies Retold by Wyatt & Reicoe
Once there was a
peaceful forest and in this one tree there lived three baby owls, Sarah, Percy,
Bill and their mother. They snuggled together and fell asleep. An hour later
the family noticed something different. Their mummy was gone! They were very
worried. They peeped out of the tree, Bill groaned, “I want my mummy!”
Other animals
were looking for food at night. They were scared but they needed to be brave.
Sarah said, “She will come back with mice and things that are nice.” Percy
said, “I suppose so.” Bill said, “I want my mummy!” Sarah, Percy and Bill thought. All owls think
a lot. Sarah said, “I think we should all go on my branch.” They waited and
wished. Out of the bushes came… “Mummy!” they all cried together. But she was
wounded. Her wing was broken! She couldn’t fly for a week but luckily she
brought some food. Sarah, Percy and Bill were shocked. They flew down and
picked her up. They struggled but they managed to get there. They started
asking questions. There were bite marks on her wing. Bill said, “You should be
more careful.” They all started laughing and lived happily ever after. Well,
not really happily, but just happy.
By Wyatt
Once upon a time
there were three baby owls. Their names were Sarah, Percy and Bill. One day, in
the middle of the night they woke up and the three baby owls said, “Our mummy
is gone!” Then, the baby owls climbed out of the tree and thought. Sarah said,
“Maybe she has been eaten by a fox!” Then the little one said, “Where’s my
mummy?” (He kept on saying that until his mummy came.) Then they saw some
leaves falling from the sky up above them. Then, something strange happened.
There were some owls. There were ten owls and one of the owls was the baby
owl’s mummy. One of the baby owls said, “Is that our family?” Then his mummy
said, “Yes, that is our family.”
But, when it was
years later, the three baby owls were not little anymore. They were big and
strong and that was the day their grandparents finally left their home. Then
they all lived happily ever after.
